Since 1944
For the past year, the historic Santa Creu Clinic in Figueres has been under new management. The more than 40 professionals working at the centre, located in the centre of the capital of Alt Empordà, allow us to offer a complete medical team with around twenty specialities and with the capacity to adapt to the growth in tourism that takes place in the region during the summer.
In addition to the 24/7 emergency service, the Santa Creu Clinic has a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging machine and rehabilitation and physiotherapy consultations. And, in recent months, the services of the health centre have been reinforced with the improvement of the surgical room and the outpatient consultation area.
All this responds to the desire of the Santa Creu Clinic to continue to be the health centre of reference for private and mutual health care in the Alt Empordà region, while at the same time responding to the new health needs and demands of the population.
Podiatry, Odontology, Ophthalmology, Pneumology and Nephrology have recently been added to the long list of specialities offered by the Santa Creu Clinic.

Fundació Salut Empordà
To be a health and social agent to meet the needs of citizens. Our actions are based on humanist values, the pursuit of excellence, responsible management and commitment to the territory.
The Fundació Salut Empordà is an entity with more than 700 years of history, located in the city of Figueres (Alt Empordà). It manages three levels of care: Figueres Hospital (specialised care), the Bernat Jaume Social and Health Centre (social and health care) and ABS L’Escala (primary care). In September 2020, it incorporated the Clínica Santa Creu in Figueres, which offers care to private clients and mutual insurance companies.
The Fundació Salut Empordà (FSE) is a non-profit organisation, integrated in the Catalan Public Health System (Siscat). In accordance with legal regulations and its statutes, any profits it may obtain must be reinvested in its activities. The accounts are audited and are published on the Transparency Portal of the Foundation’s website.
It has more than a thousand professionals and a budget of approximately 90 million euros.
