Nephrology is a medical speciality that deals with the morphological and functional study of the kidney, both in normal and pathological conditions.

The nephrological services treated at the Santa Creu Clinic are: diagnosis of renal diseases, arterial hypertension, urinary infections, renal failure and diabetic and systemic nephropathies. The treatment of renal diseases includes diagnosis and medical treatment to preserve renal function, the establishment of dietary norms and renal function replacement treatment by means of dialysis. The specialist also performs regular check-ups, for early detection of renal failure and/or assessment of cardiac risk due to persistent hypertension.
